ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Alexa Brand, MS, LMFT (she/her) is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Author, and Mindfulness Mentor who specializes in mindful self-compassion and intersectional approaches to mental health. Alexa currently works at an adolescent residential mental health center where she specializes in helping teens and their families recover from crises, work through intergenerational traumas, and bring affirming approaches to LGBTQ+ youth. Previously, Alexa has worked at trauma centers, schools, and community clinics. Additionally, Alexa has taught graduate level psychology courses for student therapists. Alexa is a cis, bisexual woman who currently resides in Los Angeles, CA with her spouse, her dog Lemon, and her two cats Strudel & Dill.
